File Buddy Editor's Review

File Buddy is a complex and fully featured file manager.

This program impressed me from the beginning with the integration of the Finder's contextual menu. It has many functionalities and it is highly customizable. You can enable/disable every item and you can place them wherever it suites your needs, like the main contextual menu, secondary menu or the third menu.

File Buddy's interface has a good look and a great functionality. You can do many tasks that usually you won't be able to do from Finder as easy as this tool does.

I appreciated the producer's attention to details, so you can get all the features you usually need in every window that this program opens. This program has the 'Move' functionality feature that I do miss in Finder.

Because it's a file manager, which can run for the 'Swiss Army Knife of the File Managers' trophy, I can add the fact that you can find many ways to organize or filter the files that are currently displayed in its file browser. You can also get other unusual options such as 'Move to Desktop' or 'Delete'. The delete option rather deletes directly the files instead of moving them into the trash.

The feature list for this program is very long. It is useless to publish here a list of all the features so I invite you to take a 'test-drive' of this software. I might add that you can find a surprise every time you use this program.

Pluses: It is a fully featured file manager with lots of advanced features. It can automatically generate droplet applications in order to automate common changes. You can save the lists of files/folders that you are working with.

Drawbacks / flaws: working with list mode may be a little difficult and it requires a little learning.

In conclusion: this is a very good file manager and it can do a lot of tasks very easy and much easier than the Finder.
